The 2022 World Series of Poker Main Event will award a $10,000,000 first-place prize.
Announced Friday night after the close of registration, a field of 8,663 entries was tallied to create a prize pool of $80,782,475. The 8,663 entries in the field officially became the second-largest WSOP Main Event of all time, behind only the 2006 WSOP Main Event which drew 8,773 entries.
Of course, along with the top payday comes the most coveted prize in all of poker, the WSOP Main Event gold bracelet. This year's bracelet is truly one of a kind, with 500 grams of 10-karat white and yellow gold, plus rubies, black diamonds, and white diamonds. The bracelet also contains the greatest card protector in the world, a removable golden poker chip specially designed to be the game's most prestigious card protector.

In the history of the WSOP Main Event, an eight-digit first-place prize has been awarded only three times. In 2006, Jamie Gold won $12,000,000 when he topped an 8,773-player field. In 2014, Martin Jacobson won $10,000,000 for defeating a 6,683-player field, while in 2019, Hossein Ensan won $10,000,000 when he was the last player standing from the 8,569 entrants.
