The 2025 U.S. Poker Open continued from the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada with the penultimate tournament of the series, Event #7: $15,100 No-Limit Hold'em. The tournament drew 81 entries and Alex Foxen leads the final seven players.
Foxen surged into the chip lead on the soft bubble when he made a full house and got value on the river against DoorDash co-founder Stanley Tang. He leveraged his stack and finished the night by bagging the overnight lead with 26% of the chips in play. Foxen leads a final table that includes David Coleman, John Riordan, Nick Seward, Justin Zaki, Neil Warren, and Cherish Andrews. These seven players will return already guaranteed $48,600, while all eyes will be on the $340,200 first-place prize, 272 PGT points, and the Event #7 mini Golden Eagle trophy.
The field of 81 entrants created a prize pool of $1,215,000 and the final 12 players earned a piece of it. Brian Battistone was the unfortunate bubble boy after he ran ace-king into aces and then lost the rest of his short stack on a flip. David Peters (12th), Stanley Tang (11th), Brandon Wilson (10th), and Manuel Fritz (9th) were among those to cash in the event.
On the final hand of the night, Sam Laskowitz got the rest of his short stack in on the turn with two pair, but he ran into Seward's turned superior two pair. The river failed to improve Laskowitz and he was eliminated in eighth place, while the seven remaining players bagged to return for the streamed final table.
Foxen, Coleman, Riordan, Seward, and Warren each picked up their second cash of the series, while Zaki and Andrews notched their first. With only one more event to go, everyone will be chasing Matthew Wantman who currently sits atop the series leaderboard with 512 points in the race to be crowned the U.S. Poker Open champion and be awarded the Golden Eagle trophy and a $25,000 PGT Passport.
