Finally, after weeks of preparation and anticipation cards are in the air for the start of Day 1 of the Super High Roller Bowl. An electric atmosphere filled the set, as 56 of the best players in the world, hovered around their starting tables for the biggest buy-in of the year.
All of the action is available free to all on PokerGO – your destination for all things poker. The stream starts at 4:30 pm ET/ 1:30 pm PT and is on a half-hour delay with hole cards.
Right away, cameras were at the Feature Table where Kevin Hart, Cary Katz, Justin Bonomo and Haralabos Voulgaris formed one of the more interesting starting groups.
Table 1 began in the outer ring of tables with a mixture of players – Dan Shak and David Einhorn from the business world, Germans Fedor Holz and Koray Aldemir, online legends Isaac Haxton and Ben Sulsky with the legend John Juanda. Check here for the complete list of the starting table draw.
Returning champions Brian Rast and Rainer Kempe are in the field, but have a tough road out of Day 1. Rast begins with Jason Koon, Antonio Esfandairi and Scott Seiver. While Kempe has Dan Smith, Andrew Robl, 2016 final tablist Matt Berkey and the wildcard Anonymous Businessman at his starting table.
The schedule calls for players to play seven 75-minute levels with a ten-minute break between the levels. The event has an action clock of 30 seconds and each player has five 60-second time extensions each day.
The structure of the event is similar to what the ARIA High Roller events have been using, where there is a large ante – ranging from as large as big blind at the start to the size of the small blind as levels increase and it’s paid by only the big blind.
