While last night’s “PLOMG” week opener made Poker After Dark history for one reason, it was the first session since August’s reboot to incorporate a game other than No Limit Hold’em, the second installment of Pot Limit Omaha on Poker After Dark is ready to make history for another reason. Wednesday night’s $300/$600 PLO cash game will feature the heavyweight battle the entire poker world has been waiting for, Tom Dwan versus Daniel Cates.
News involving the two high stakes online legends over the last few years has primarily revolved around the infamous durrr Challenge. The heads-up match between Dwan and Cates boasted a million-dollar prop bet figure, but was cut short when Black Friday hit. Since, Dwan and Cates have had limited face-to-face contact, save for a few rumored cash games in Macau, but that all changes on Wednesday night.
Dwan and Cates will join a similar line up that opened “PLOMG” week on Tuesday. Phil Galfond, who headlined the “PLOMG” opener and proved why he is considered one of the world’s best with a late-night bluff, returns, along with Brandon Adams, Ben Lamb, and last night’s biggest winner Isaac Haxton. Brian Rast is the only player who won’t be making back-to-back appearances.
After nearly $1 million was on the table in the “PLOMG” opener, more big stacks, big action, and big clashes are expected tonight and you can watch it all, only on PokerGO.
