Jason Mercier’s one of the most successful poker players in the world, having no less than five World Series of Poker bracelets, an EPT title and countless online wins. With $17 million in live tournament earnings, Mercier ranks 13th on the all-time money list, 7th on the EPT all-time money list and 1st on the WSOP Omaha all-time money list.
Mercier burst onto the scene with a massive win in the EPT Season 3 San Remo stop, when he took home $1.4 million after crushing his opponents at one of the fastest final tables in poker history. While that tournament meant financial independence, arguably the worst night of his life followed that life-changing win. Mercier was stabbed in the back with a broken bottle after a bar fight, one inch removed from it being a fatal injury. On this podcast he tells the entire story.
Mercier’s story, however, didn’t start with live poker, as he was among the first Supernovas on PokerStars in 2006, and the 16th ever to become Supernova Elite in 2007.
On this podcast, Mercier talks about the battle for the acceptance of his lifestyle with his family, and making big choices with big consequences.
