While a tweet or two may let fans into their favorite poker player’s heads, it is usually just for a brief moment thanks to a 140-character limit. Instagram has no such boundaries though and this week brought some pictures across our timeline that were all worth more than a thousand words.
Last week’s “Instagram Insiders” focused on anything and everything Monte Carlo but this week, we are heading around the world. With that being said, starting with anyone other than the jet-setting Lynn Gilmartin would be a crime. The WPT host has been enjoying her time on the second-half of the Montedam Swing, with Royal Flush Crew members Caitlyn Howe and Andrea Johnson and some of PokerStars’ biggest names.
While we’re staying in Europe for this one, the entire world can tune in to watch PokerStars’ Jaime Staples battle in the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker. Unlike Doug Polk and Jason Mercier, who streamed the $25,000 SCOOP High Roller yesterday, Staples will be streaming almost every day over the next two weeks from Croatia. Jamie’s brother and weight-loss prop bet partner, Matt, will also be streaming throughout the SCOOP series.
Coming back to this side of the pond and keeping with the SCOOP theme, Doug Polk took some time off from giving his followers poker tips and instead dropped some fashion advice. Aside from the sunglasses though, we’re not sure this Polk at his most fashionable, although he is throwing it back with a vintage 2009 leather jacket which we’d love to see at the Super High Roller Bowl. While Polk’s fashion sense may not be there just yet, his pose is runway-ready.
Canadian Mike McDonald won his first major live tournament on his home soil and after taking pictures in the winner’s circle, McDonald went to get a celebratory breakfast. Following McDonald into the restaurant was Dan Suied, who is better known as the “Miami Boss”. Suied was hungry for breakfast too but the restaurant had already begun only serving lunch, so The Boss paid McDonald $100 for his. Some people just never stop winning.
I have no idea where in the world this is and I don’t even know what is going on in this short video but we haven’t had a Liv Boeree Caption Contest in a while, so why not?
We’re going back to Europe for this one but in a few weeks, both Daniel Negreanu and Kevin Hart will be stateside for the $300,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl. Kevin Hart was announced as the field’s “mystery celebrity” and will be battling it out against some of the world’s best in the year’s biggest event. More information on the Super High Roller Bowl can be found here and follow Poker Central on all forms of social media to find out how you can watch Hart compete later this month.
