Friday morning. It’s been a long week but you are almost there. Just a few more calls, one more meeting and then the weekend and freedom awaits. We know you need a little extra boost to get you through the final day of the workweek and luckily, Poker Central and Death Wish Coffee have you covered. The world’s strongest coffee gives you a “Morning Perk,” bringing you the best of the internet from the past week.
“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
The internet wasn’t around when Ferris Bueller gave everyone the perfect high school yearbook quote but his words are just as powerful today as they were in the late 80’s. The internet, more often than not, moves faster than life itself and while we’re sure we missed some of it, these were our favorites from the past week.
Another Friday, another movie trailer to get excited about. Blade Runner 2049’s official trailer dropped earlier this week and the sequel to the 1982 Ridley Scott hit stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, who is back from the original, and Jared Leto. Blade Runner 2049 unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to rock what remains of society on Earth and judging by the trailer, this movie has a lot of potential to be another Ridley Scott hit.

We go from a movie sequel that is expected to be a hit to Live Nation’s most recent mega-signing that is also expected to be a hit. The concert and touring company announced yesterday that Live Nation and rapper Jay Z had signed a 10-year touring contract that would see Jay Z perform around the world under the Live Nation umbrella until 2027. The contract is worth $200 million and has Hova set to tour until he is 57 years old. The rich get richer and Jay Z proves that the greatest of all-time never need to retire.
Speaking of the GOAT, Tom Brady will be appearing on this year’s cover of Madden 18. The EA Sports video game is one of the brand’s most successful franchises and amazingly, this is the first time the five-time Super Bowl winner has been featured on the cover. Brady clearly doesn’t seem worried about the “Madden Curse” but when you combine that with breaking a mirror and walking under a ladder, could this be the year the Patriots and Tom Brady finally fall?
Iranian looks so much like Lionel Messi that it almost landed him in jail for disrupting public order #Iran https://t.co/KRn8s4pias pic.twitter.com/zpXbRTZDlW

While Tom Brady may be arguably the best quarterback of all-time, Lionel Messi may be one of the greatest soccer players of all-time. The Argentine is a five-time FIFA Player of the Year and four-time UEFA Champions League winner and apparently has a long-lost twin brother. Not really, but an Iranian student, Reza Parastesh, looks like a carbon copy of the Barcelona forward and made news for posing as Messi and causing quiet the selfie stir in Iran.
We end this week’s “Morning Perk” with the biggest news of the week in the poker world, which also includes one of the world’s most recognizable actors and comedians. Kevin Hart has been confirmed as the “mystery celebrity” of this year’s Super High Roller Bowl and after arriving to the most recent PokerStars Championship Monte Carlo series in a helicopter, Hart looks like he will be traveling to ARIA in style later this month. Only question, is there room for Hart’s ride?
