Nick Maimone Leads Final 32 Players in PSCB Main Event

Day 3 of the 2017 PokerStars Championship Bahamas Main Event closed Wednesday with 32 remaining players of the 125 that started the day. Nick Maimone began as chip leader, five levels later history repeated itself after he was one of five players to bag up seven-figure stacks.

The field is stacked with successful players at every level – Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier sits second in chips and 2012 PCA champ John Dibella finished the day in third. WSOP Main Event champs Ryan Riess and Adrian Mateos remain, Twitch star Jamie Staples and 2016 November Niner Cliff Josephy all return to action.

Byron Kaverman, Christian Harder, Daniel Weinman and Pratyush Buddiga advance as well, but have ground to make up as the shorter returning stacks.

Maimone celebrates his 30th birthday Thursday and is looking towards a short day of tournament action. Three days remain until the final table crowns a winner so play on Day 4 and 5 will be up to the tournament director’s discretion.

Cards are scheduled to be in the air promptly at noon and they’ll continue to play 90-minute levels.

Bryn Kenney won his second high roller event in as many days – this time a $25,000 Single Re-entry event with a 30-second shot clock. The tournament drew 59 entries for a $1,445,500 prize pool to cover the final eight players.

Kenney won $969,075 in the single day $50,000 buy-in event, combined with Wednesday’s win he now has nearly $5.5 million in earnings at Atlantis.
