Freshly available in THE VAULT on PokerGO is the second episode of Poker After Dark‘s $100,000 Cash Game. The $200/$400 game adds a $50 ante to the equation and approximately $900,000 sits on the table when the action starts.
Phil Laak makes an appearance in every season of Poker After Dark and pops in for the second time in Season 6 for the two $100,000 Cash Game episodes. ‘The Unabomber’ is forever a popular figure in the poker world for his personality. Laak’s game is full of flair and he gets the chance to show it off here.
The other five players from the first episode of this cash game return for the second round with Tom Dwan and Gus Hansen chief among them. Phil Hellmuth is in the mix as well. Hellmuth finds himself faced with difficult decisions with another ‘Poker Brat’ rant following up behind.
David ‘Viffer’ Peat shows up late in the session and gets to work playing his unconventional style to push the action even higher. Not that Peat needs an excuse to play subpar hands but the Seven Deuce Game being added to the game makes for another fun wrinkle. Hansen faces off with Dwan in a hand where the Seven Deuce Game dynamic creates a larger than expected pot.
Doyle Brunson is back in the saddle to defend his big winner status from the previous episode. Twitter is still in its early stages when this episode first aired and a healthy portion of the table talk centers around that topic. Hellmuth is in the mix of this conversation making prop bets on how many followers he can achieve by a certain time. It’s Hellmuth and as you would expect, the number is gaudy.
Laak chats up Brunson about the Texan’s blog which at the time had a strong following. Anyone who follows Brunson knows he is not afraid to hold back.
The home game vibe sticks to this whole episode and provides a friendly way to enjoy the gigantic cash game.
Start your week in THE VAULT and check out this episode along with many more of Poker After Dark’s past. The “Femme Fatale” shows are available as well with new Poker After Dark episodes scheduled to be announced in the near future. Follow Poker Central to never miss an update.
