Last month, Poker Central and announced the expansion of the PokerGO original content library with plans to unroll a six-episode, short-form comedy series starring Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock alumnus, Chris Parnell. The wait is over and while fans watch Phil Hellmuth provide commentary for the World Series of Poker Main Event final table on both ESPN and PokerGO, they can also watch Hellmuth open the Poker Nights series, as he guest stars on the show’s opening episode.
In the first episode, Hellmuth joins the Poker Nights crew as an “amateur” and while the 14-time WSOP bracelet winner tries to blend in, Zach tries to beat him at his own game.
Poker Nights follows a group of “best-ish” friends and the oddball guests that filter in and out of their weekly, neighborhood home game. The scripted series’ cast includes a shuffling of both established and up-and-coming comedic talent and deals poker fans a comedic look at the game.
Poker Nights is just the first wave of brand-new original content that PokerGO will be debuting over the next few weeks, including the reboot of “Poker After Dark.” PAD will feature the game’s top players and biggest personalities playing for enormous stakes with Ali Nejad and Nick Schulman providing commentary on PokerGO.
A full schedule of “Poker After Dark” and Poker Nights episodes, along with other live events, such as Poker Masters, can be found on PokerGO.com, along with replays of WSOP final tables and exclusive Main Event coverage.
