While most people spent the summer submerged in PokerGO live streams and event replays of World Series of Poker events, tons of original content also debuted on poker’s premier subscription platform. That original content is available on-demand and after the first of many new Pokerography episodes dropped earlier this summer, the rollout continues with three more this week.
Pokerography gives fans a unique look into the lives of poker’s biggest names and high stakes regular Phil Laak is the focus of the newest Pokerography episode. In a world of big personalities, Laak has become one of poker’s biggest personalities, using an incomparable table demeanor and a world famous nickname, The Unabomber, to captivate poker fans.
Laak was introduced to cards at a young age and while it took him a while to find the “perfect job,” it was love at first sight for Laak. It was also love at first sight for Laak and Hollywood actress Jennifer Tilly, who met after Laak starred in an invitational WPT event.
The Unabomber’s poker journey started at New York’s Mayfair Club and over the last decade, Laak traveled the high stakes circuit and become one of televised poker’s most entertaining players.
Away from the felt, Laak has always looked to push the limits. The search for high-octane action has left Laak battered and bruised a few times and has even accounted for some close calls but just like in poker, Laak has always been able to shake off a few bad beats.
For a unique look into Phil Laak’s life and career, check out the newest Pokerography episode and learn more about your favorite poker players, from Nick Schulman, to Maria Ho, to Johnny Chan and Jason Koon, and more, exclusively on PokerGO.
