Today the PokerGO original series Pokerography featuring Jason Koon, Liv Boeree and Byron Kaverman have released on poker’s premier subscription platform today. You can now watch some never heard before stories about these top professionals on PokerGO.com.
Jason Koon
With $8.8 million in live tournament earnings it’s hard to imagine that Jason Koon came from very little. Born and raised in West-Virginia, Koon’s childhood was far from ordinary. An abusive father pushed him, his mother and siblings away from their home and for an entire summer they lived on a campsite.
On this episode of Pokerography, Koon talks at length about his childhood, the trials and tribulations of family life and his dedicating to athletics in college. This is where Koon discovered poker through home games and “NovaSky” was born when he started to play online poker. In this episode of Pokerography, he tells his story.
Liv Boeree
An ad for a game show is what ultimately lead to the start of Liv Boeree’s story in the game of poker. From a love for horses, discovering metal music and playing the guitar, Boeree went to study physics at University in Manchester.
Boeree played on the poker-based TV show, coached by Annie Duke and Phil Hellmuth, and that opened her eyes to the game of poker. Flash forward to 2010, and Boeree won the European Poker Tour San Remo event for €1,250,000.
Just this week Boeree won her first bracelet in the $10,000 Tag Team event with her boyfriend Igor Kurganov, and in this episode of Pokerography, she tells her whole story.
Byron Kaverman
As one of the most accomplished players of the last two years, Byron Kaverman started off this summer red hot. Kaverman finished fifth in the Super High Roller Bowl for $1.4 million followed by a 12th-place finish in the High Roller for One Drop for $257,072.
Kaverman had his breakout year in 2015, when he won the $10,000 6-Max No Limit Hold’em tournament followed by an epic race to the finish line in the GPI Player of the Year standings. Kaverman was crowned Player of the Year, and has been a force on the tour since.
The story of Kaverman started out with All-State and All-American honors in soccer, and in this Pokerograhy episode, he tells the story of how his drive for sports ultimately lead him to becoming one of poker’s best.
Watch Pokerography and other original programming on PokerGO, as well as live events and replays from the Super High Roller Bowl and World Series of Poker.
