Scott Seiver leads seven remaining players with 2,075,000 in chips in Event #10: $50,000 No-Limit Hold'em of the 2022 Poker Masters at the PokerGO Studio from ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The star-studded streamed final table of the series finale will also feature Seth Davies (1,915,000) and Jason Koon (1,405,000) with seven-figure stacks. Adrian Mateos (755,000), Mikita Badziakouski (460,000), Erik Seidel (400,000), and Daniel Negreanu (390,000) will all return with shorter stacks.
Play will resume on the money bubble, as only six players will earn prize money. Once the bubble bursts, each player will be guaranteed $92,500, but all eyes will be on the title, trophy, and $666,000 first-place prize.
Sean Winter is currently in the lead for the coveted Purple Jacket and $50,000 championship bonus which will go to the 2022 Poker Masters series champion. Seth Davies and Erik Seidel are the only two players with an opportunity to snatch the series title, but they will have to emerge victorious in this tournament.
The field of 37 entrants created a prize pool of $1,850,000 and the top six finishers will earn a piece of it. Seiver bubbled Event #9 the previous day, but he came back to bag the chip lead in the Poker Masters finale. Sean Winter made a deep run and could have possibly locked up the Purple Jacket with a cash, but he fell to Negreanu in 11th place. Bill Klein and Eric Worre were then eliminated on the same hand against Davies.
Eight players converged on a single table and Badziakouski quickly doubled through Davies after he turned quad aces. Mateos also secured a double through Davies on a classic flip where the Spaniard's ladies held against the big slick. Soon after, David Peters exited in eighth place after his suited ace-nine failed to improve to the best hand against Davies' queens.
Seidel was the next player at risk, but he was able to secure a short-stacked double through Negreanu after getting his chips in as a slight favorite and holding. Negreanu then secured a short-stacked double of his own to stay alive when his ace-eight held against Seiver's ace-four on one of the last hands of the night. Seven players still remained at 3 a.m., and they all bagged to return for the final day.
