Earlier this month, Poker Central announced the addition of Season XVI World Poker Tour final tables to the PokerGO live events library, giving fans from around the world the opportunity to watch the world’s leading poker players compete for prestigious WPT titles. The Legends of Poker Main Event opens that partnership and the final table broadcast goes live on PokerGO at 7:30 PM ET.
The six-handed final table, customary for World Poker Tour events, boasts past WPT winners looking for historic endings to an already historic Legends of Poker Main Event. When the event played into the money, the WPT awarded their one-billionth prize dollar but JC Tran and Marvin Rettenmaier will look to make even more history on Thursday night.
Each are two-time WPT champions and will return on opposite ends of the spectrum, with Tran coming back as a sizable chip leader and Rettenmaier sitting at the bottom of the leader board, in quests to become just the seventh player to ever win three WPT titles.
Those two past champions aren’t the only players looking to make history though. Phil Hellmuth has 14 World Series of Poker bracelets and has seemingly won everything there is to win in poker but a World Poker Tour title has always seemed to elude The Poker Brat.
Hellmuth comes back in the middle of the pack, looking to change his WPT legacy in a big way, after being announced as the newest addition to their broadcast team earlier this month. Houston’s DJ Alexander returns just below Hellmuth on the leaderboard, looking to make good on his first-career WPT final table appearance.
