Wrapping Up Poker Masters Preview Week

The countdown to the highest stakes week of the year is almost up! Over the next seven days, Poker Central has prepared fans for the first-ever Poker Masters series. The five-event high stakes series will be streamed exclusively on PokerGO and the action starts today, September 13^th, and concludes with the Poker Masters Purple Jacket™ presentation on September 20^th.

Negreanu’s Side Action

Arguably the biggest storyline heading into the Poker Masters series was Daniel Negreanu and his must-win side action. The Poker Hall of Famer opened the action last week, when he made over a dozen $50,000 bets with players from around the globe. Heading into today’s opening Poker Masters $50,000 event, Negreanu has two dozen such side bets and if he can end the week in the winner’s circle, he stands to make over an additional $1 million.

What Makes a Master?

Over the next week, some of the world’s best high stakes tournament players will compete in the Poker Masters and in the lead up to the highest stakes week of the year, Poker Central asked some of them, “What makes a Master?” From fundamentals, to stamina, to resilience, pressure situations, “sisu,” and knowledge, we’ve met some Masters that have shared what they think will be the difference between winning and losing millions this week.

This year’s Super High Roller Bowl featured players from around the globe, with an international player winning the year’s biggest event for the second straight year. The Poker Masters is also shaping up to be an international affair, with players from across Europe set to compete. Which flags make their way to the leader board and the winner’s circle remains to be seen but one thing is for sure, the entire world will be watching the Poker Masters.

The Poker Masters Purple Jacket

Bracelets, rings, trophies, even belts. The poker world has some iconic pieces of hardware but the Poker Masters is redefining poker trophies this week. The winningest player across the five-event series will win the Poker Masters Purple Jacket, which was designed by Waraire Boswell. The one-of-a-kind jacket, which will be debuted later today, is also turning the highest stakes week of the year to the most stylish week of the year.
