Phil Ivey has been quiet on the PokerGO Tour (PGT) scene, but he now finds himself in the top 10 of the PGT leaderboard for the first time ever. Ivey is competing in Europe at the Triton Poker Cyprus series. Through the first four events, he cashed three times and earned one victory, skyrocketing up the PGT leaderboard to 1,039 points. That puts Ivey eighth on the 2022 PGT leaderboard.
Ivey first cashed at Merit Royal Hotel Casino & Spa in North Cyprus in Triton Poker Cyprus Event #1: $50,000 NL Hold’em, placing fourth for $387,100. He quickly returned to the final table of another event, finishing fifth in the $50,000 NL Hold’em 8-Handed Turbo for $179,000. Ivey then won $1,170,000 for taking first place in Event #3: $75,000 Short Deck Hold’em.
With 1,039 PGT points, Ivey is now in the top 10 of the leaderboard and only 10 points behind Jeremy Ausmus in seventh place. Ivey’s arrival in the top 10 bumped out Jake Schindler from the top 10, knocking him down to 11th place just one day after he climbed his way to 10th place on the leaderboard.
The addition of Ivey to the top 10 of the 2022 PGT leaderboard comes one day after Ali Imsirovic moved into the top spot.
