The PGT Championship is the season-ending PokerGO Tour (PGT) tournament and will be held on January 9-10, 2024, at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada. The PGT Championship is a $1,000,000 freeroll that guarantees $500,000 for the winner and is open to players ranked in the top 40 on the PGT leaderboard at the end of the season and select Dream Seat winners.
There are multiple ways to win a Dream Seat throughout 2023, and the third winner has been selected, with Washington's Caleb Hancock being chosen from the PokerGO Social Media promotion held on Gleam.io to be the third Dream Seat winner of 2023. Hancock will join Dream Seat winner Albert Hart and Julio Clavell in the season-ending PGT Championship, where they will face off against the best players in the world.
Multiple ways to win a Dream Seat in 2023 include playing in the RunGood Poker Series Dream Seat Invitational and PokerGO Annual Subscriber Dream Seat Giveaway. However, Hancock won his Dream Seat through the PokerGO Social Media Dream Seat Giveaway held on Gleam.io.
The PokerGO Social Media Dream Seat Giveaway began in April, with anyone being able to earn tickets into the drawing by completing social media-based tasks. Some of these included visiting PokerGO on YouTube, Instagram, or Facebook, downloading the PokerGO app, following PokerGO on Twitter or Twitch, subscribing to the PokerGO Podcast, and many more. Hancock's winning ticket came from when he downloaded the PokerGO app.
The 41-year-old project manager was born in Seattle, Washington, where he resides with his wife and two children. Unlike the previous Dream Seat winners who play poker regularly, Hancock's poker experience revolves around playing home games in the Washington area for many years.
When it comes to PokerGO, Hancock enjoys watching the World Series of Poker, High Stakes Poker, and No Gamble, No Future, and he'll soon be able to add the PGT Championship to that list once he gets to take a seat to compete in the $1,000,000 freeroll in January.
Having watched poker on TV since high school, Hancock will now have the opportunity to be part of the action on PokerGO by being in the PGT Championship.
"This means a lot to me," Hancock said on this opportunity to play in the PGT Championship. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me to be able to come to Las Vegas and play with the biggest names in poker."
There are still opportunities to join Hancock, Clavell, and Hart as a Dream Seat winner. Head to the Dream Seat page on PGT.com to find information on the final method of winning a Dream Seat into the PGT Championship $1,000,000 freeroll by winning the RunGood Poker Series Dream Seat Invitational. To gain entry into the RunGood Poker Series Dream Seat Invitational, you must win one of the remaining events on the 2023 RunGood Poker Series schedule. There are approximately 85 events remaining for the year at eight different stops around the country.
