The 2024 PokerGO Cup kicked off at the PokerGO Studio from ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and David Peters bagged the top stack with 4,950,000 to lead the six remaining players in Event #1: $5,100 No-Limit Hold'em.
Mark Ioli, Fabian Quoss, Shawn Daniels, Cody Daniels, and Dusti Smith round out the players who will return for the final day as play resumes at 12 p.m. PT on Friday, January 26 with the delayed final table stream beginning at 1 p.m. PT on PokerGO.
The healthy field of 111 entrants created a prize pool of $555,000 and the top 16 finishers earned a piece of it. Anthony Hu was the unfortunate bubble boy when he got his shorter stack in with ace-queen against the fours of Peters and failed to improve.
Farah Galfond (16th), Erik Seidel (15th), Brian Luo (14th), Andrew Lichtenberger (13th), Matthew McEwan (12th), Alex Condon (11th), Stoyan Madanzhiev (10th), Joris Ruijs (9th), and Jeremy Becker (8th) all made it into the money but fell short of the final table.
The seven remaining players converged on a single table and it didn't take long before Jonathan Little shoved the small blind with king-nine suited and ran into ace-queen. Little found little help and he was eliminated in seventh place, while the six remaining players bagged to return for the streamed final table.
The six players will return with $27,750 locked up, but all eyes will be on the first-place prize of $141,525.
