Cynn’s Championship Call
John Cynn and Tony Miles were locked in a heads up battle that seemed to have no end in sight. The two traded pots for hours and each played near perfect poker until Miles made one wrong move. With $8.8 million and the WSOP Main Event title staring John Cynn in the face, along with the fatigue that comes after two weeks of Main Event pressure, Cynn took a while to call, but eventually did to claim the victory. 411s from the Floor
While the Main Event streamed live on PokerGO and ESPN, Poker Central was behind the scenes and on the tournament floor. With Drea Renee leading the way, 411 updates covered everything from Phil Hellmuth winning a record-breaking 15th bracelet, Joe Cada’s quest for a second Main Event title, Player of the Year leader Shaun Deeb, and more. Poker Central Podcast with John Cynn
Since winning the 2018 WSOP Main Event, John Cynn has made his fare share of media appearances. Some of those have taken Cynn outside the poker bubble, like this interview with CNBC, but two such appearances have come on the Poker Central Podcast. Listen to the Main Event recap episode here and then check out the feature interview with Cynn from last week’s episode below.
ESPN Main Event Episodes
On-demand event replays may not be available on PokerGO due to blackout restrictions, but 2018 WSOP Main Event episodes are scheduled to hit ESPN next month. Weekly releases begin Sunday, September 21 and continue for the next ten weeks. The final episode will air on Sunday, November 11 and stay tuned to Poker Central for more information on the ESPN schedule.
