The 2024 Poker Masters presented by PokerStars NAPT continued on Wednesday from the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, with Event #2: $10,100 No-Limit Hold’em. The tournament drew 100 entries and Jeremy Becker leads the final six players.
With 20 players remaining, Becker was down to below four big blinds with 75,000 at the 10,000/20,000 level. He picked up pocket fives under the gun and held up against Justin Zaki's ace-jack to double up, beginning his rapid ascent up the chip counts. He leads a final table that includes Dan Sepiol, Sean Winter, Michael Moncek, Nicholas Seward, and Ren Lin. These six players will return on Thursday at noon already guaranteed $50,000. Up top for the winner is the $255,000 first-place prize, 255 PGT points, and the Event #2 trophy.
The field of 100 entrants created a prize pool of $1,000,000 and the final 15 players earned a piece of it. Jesse Lonis just missed out, busting on the money bubble. Vladas Tamasauskas (15th), Chris Hunichen (14th), Kenneth Kim (13th), and Sam Laskowitz (12th) were the first to fall once the money was reached. Andrew Lichtenberger (11th), Dan Smith (10th), and Event #1 champion Spencer Champlin (9th) followed shortly after.
Nick Schulman fell just short of the final table in eighth place, getting his chips in with ace-eight against Becker's ace-king. An eight found the flop to give Schulman the lead, but Becker turned a king and held up through the river to set the final table of seven players.
Dylan Linde was eliminated in seventh place, getting his 19 big blinds in with ace-queen against Winter's pocket treys. The pair held up and Winter vaulted to third in chips.
