The PokerStars Championship Bahamas officially began today when cards got in the air for the opening $100,000 Super High Roller. The big names are all there, reigning GPI Player of the Year David Peters, Dan Colman, Dan Shak, who finished runner-up in this event twice, as well as PokerStars Team Pros Jason Mercier and Daniel Negreanu. Today, they’re out of the spotlight.
That’s because Kevin Hart is also in mix and is the first celebrity to show in 2017. Past PCA festivals have seen the likes of soccer legend Ronaldo, Michael Phelps and many more celebrities and athletes take to the felt.
The renowned comedian and actor is putting his poker skills to the test in the Super High Roller and, according to the PokerStars Blog, he’s still alive as play resumes after the first break of the day. Hart might have Negreanu to thank for that, as the two were spotted chatting before play began earlier this afternoon and the six-time WSOP bracelet winner may have given the world-famous funny man some pointers.
Win, lose or draw, Kevin Hart looks to be enjoying his time in the Bahamas and with an action-packed schedule of tournaments, cash games and non-poker activities, it’s hard to see why anyone wouldn’t at the PokerStars Championship Bahamas.
