Matt Stout founded the Charity Series of Poker two years ago to raise money and awareness for worthy charities through poker tournaments hosted during major events. The Borgata hosted the ninth CSOP during the Winter Poker Open, Stout hit quads at the final table, never looked back and won the event.
“This wraps up our third season of the Charity Series of Poker and brings the grand total raised for worthy causes to over $160,000,” Stout said. “While I take a lot of pride in what we’ve accomplished, I’d like to assure everyone we have big plans to keep growing the CSOP. We look forward to continue to help people have a blast while giving back to worthy organizations.”

The event featured East Coast regulars Jamie Kerstetter, T.J. Shulman and Bernard Lee at the final table. World Poker Tour employee Brittany Paige took a turn on the other side of the felt and earned a final table cash.
“Matt and Lexi Gavin worked really hard on the event and I’m glad I could help out for a great cause,” Paige said. “I was so happy to make the final table, especially with my girl Jamie Kerstetter on my right. Everyone had a blast, great vibes, tons of fun and I look forward to future CSOP events.”
Kerstetter had a slightly different opinion of the final table. “CSOP had a great atmosphere. Everyone was drinking, laughing and having fun… until Stout won. Then it was all ruined,” she joked.
The tournament drew 111 entries which raised $11,000 for the Support the Kid Foundation. It’s a non-profit volunteer organization for children fighting cancer, created by Nicholas “The Kid” Wolber that lost his battle to cancer. The charity focuses on costs of experimental cancer treatments and the associated travel expenses.
Christian Francia won the competition for most rebuys with 11, besting Jerry Callahan with nine entries.
