Nick Schulman added further evidence of being one of the best seven-card stud players in the world to his poker tournament file by winning PGT Mixed Games II Event #5: $10,200 Triple Stud Mix. Schulman topped a tough field of 40 entries to take home the $144,000 first-place prize.
The victory comes in the same year that Schulman won the WSOP $1,500 Seven-Card Stud event for his fourth WSOP gold bracelet. It also gave him the points he needed to move inside of the top 40 of the 2023 PGT leaderboard, where he now sits 39th with 817 points. The top 40 players as ranked by the PGT leaderboard at the end of the season will qualify for the PGT Championship $1,000,000 freeroll.

Nick Schulman came into the final day of play facing John Racener in a heads-up battle. Racener had the chip lead to start Wednesday's action, and it looked as though Racener was going to seal the deal to get the victory. Racener had Schulman short, but Schulman was able to find a double up and then spin his stack into the chip lead. From there, Schulman never looked back, eventually finishing off Racener in razz.
It was Schulman's second cash of PGT Mixed Games II. He previously took eighth place in Event #2: $10,200 Big Bet Mix. On the PGT season as a whole, the result was Schulman's second victory and 12th cash of the season. Schulman's other PGT victory this season came during the 2023 Poker Masters when he won Event #7: $25,200 No-Limit Hold'em for $374,000.
With the win in Event #5: Nick Schulman climbed into fourth place on the PGT Mixed Games II series leaderboard. He now has 167 PGT points this series. Chino Rheem remains the leader with 287 points. Rheem finished fourth in Event #5 to earn his third cash of the series.
