LAS VEGAS– May 17, 2018 – Poker Central®, the ultimate destination for fans of poker tournaments, cash games, and lifestyle away from the tables, and ARIA Resort & Casino debuted the High Roller of the Year award. Set to include results across Poker Central’s entire portfolio of high stakes events, the player of the year program will award its top, consistent performers with a variety of prizes on an annual basis.
The High Roller of the Year race will kick off with the $25K ARIA High Roller Series event on May 31, which will be held in the PokerGO Studio, Poker Central’s new state-of-the-art production facility located inside ARIA Resort & Casino. The year-round points race will include all ARIA High Roller Series events as well as the High Roller Triple Crown™ comprised of the Poker Masters, U.S. Poker Open, and the final event of the race, the Super High Roller Bowl.
“This player of the year system gives the ARIA High Roller Series and High Roller Triple Crown an extra layer of competition for our poker pros,” said Sam Simmons, vice president of content at Poker Central. “While not only rewarding players for consistent performance in these events, we want to create added storylines and drama to the series that can be followed throughout the year.”
The scoring system allows players to earn points on every cash in each event, with point multipliers being applied during major tournaments. The points leader at the conclusion of the year will receive rake-free entry into all of the following year’s high roller events, and the top five point leaders at the time of the Super High Roller Bowl lottery will receive automatic seats into that year’s event. Additional prizing and rewards from Poker Central and their partners will be announced throughout the year.
The High Roller of the Year will culminate with the 2019 Super High Roller Bowl. Dates for that event are still to be determined. Click here for more information about the award race.
