Last week, Poker Central announced the acquisition of the global television and digital media rights to the World Series of Poker and an agreement that provides live coverage of the World Series of Poker Main Event from Day 1 until a champion is crowned. That live coverage will be on ESPN but anything that will not air on ESPN was set to be streamed “exclusively through Poker Central’s digital distribution channels.”
This week, after days of anticipation and rumors about those “channels,” Poker Central is announcing the launch of PokerGO. The poker subscription service features many of poker’s biggest live events, such as the Super High Roller Bowl and the World Series of Poker this summer, as well as on-demand original programming throughout the year.
PokerGO gives poker enthusiasts a destination for the world’s biggest tournaments and high stakes cash games, with multiple event premiering every month. The summer streaming schedule begins with two massive events, the $300,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl and the $111,111 High Roller for One Drop, and then includes more than a dozen other WSOP bracelet events throughout the summer.
The live programming offering expands with weekly high stakes cash games later this summer and additional premier events throughout the year. Those premier events are to be announced but all PokerGO live events will be produced by Poker PROductions.
As the one stop shop for poker programming, PokerGO also has original programming offerings, including classic programming like “Poker After Dark,” “Face the Ace,” “Doubles Poker Championship,” and more. PokerGO also features “Pokerography” episodes and “Dead Money: A Super High Roller Bowl Story,” which features Matt Berkey’s preparation and run to last year’s final table.
“PokerGO offers the best live and on-demand poker tournaments and content for the fiercely passionate poker fan and the casual enthusiast alike – whenever and wherever you want them,” said JR McCabe, chief digital officer of Poker Central. “By pairing PokerGO with our existing television partnerships, we will offer unique and original programming to the largest potential global audience.”
PokerGO’s dedicated SVOD service is the first of its kind available to the world-wide poker audience and follows the growing trend in live sports to provide extensive access to live events. PokerGO is now available via a $99 annual subscription or a $10 monthly pass and can be accessed through www.PokerGO.com.
