Punnat Punsri scored a $310,000 victory by winning Event #7: $25,000 NL Hold’em at the 2023 PokerGO Cup. Punsri topped a field of 31 entries to take home the title and also moved himself into third place on the overall series leaderboard where he now sits with 335 points.
Punsri began the second and final day last in chips with five players remaining, but he was able to climb off the mat and eventually get into the chip lead. He took out Daniel Negreanu in third place and then defeated Daniel Colpoys in heads-up play to win it all.

Sam Soverel was the first player to bust on Thursday. He went out in fifth place and was knocked out by Daniel Negreanu. Negreanu had to come from behind to score the elimination when his ace-queen went up against Soverel’s ace-king. Negreanu found a queen on the turn to win.
David Peters entered the final day with the chip lead but things didn’t go his way. He ultimately busted in fourth when he jammed from the small blind with queen-sox of diamonds and ran into Punnat Punsri’s king-queen in the big blind.
Next out the door was Daniel Negreanu. By making the money, Negreanu had improved to more than $50,000,000 in career live tournament earnings, becoming the third player in poker history to eclipse that mark. His cash in this event was for $124,000 after his ace-queen went down to Punsri’s ace-ten.
Heads-up play didn’t last too long. Punsri began with the lead, quickly extended it, and then sealed the deal. On the final hand, Punsri check-raised all in on the river with two pair, jacks and deuces. Daniel Colpoys called it off with a worse two pair and was eliminated in second place.
