The 2020 World Series of Poker schedule just got a lot more exciting as 17 events were added to the calendar. The 51st WSOP runs from May 26-July 15 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and poker’s greatest festival will now include the “Freezeout Series.”
The “Freezeout Series” is a collection of 17 events that brings back poker to its purest form without the possibility to re-enter. With buy-ins ranging from $500 up to $5,000, these events will appeal to players of all levels but in particular, the recreational players that come out to Las Vegas for their one shot of glory.
$1,000,000 MYSTERY BOUNTY EVENT
On top of the additional freezeouts that have been added, the World Series of Poker is debuting a mindblowing new event titled “Mystery Bounty No-Limit Hold’em”. This event will have a $1,000,000 in guaranteed bounties and at least one massive $250,000 bounty! What that means is that at least one player will receive one bounty worth what’s possibly near the top prize of this $1,500 buy-in event.
The Mystery Bounty event is a freezeout and starts with a 50,000 starting stack where a portion of the buy-ins go towards bounties. The size of the mystery bounties is assigned randomly per player and ranges from $2,500 up to $250,000. The standard bounty size for all other players will be $100. The size of the bounty for a given player will only be revealed when they cash out their bounty chip a the cage.
For the 2020 World Series of Poker, a $250,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em is making its debut on the schedule. Starting on June 27th, this three-day event will be the biggest buy-in of the schedule. In addition to this new event, a staple on the calendar, the $10,000 Heads Up Championship, will now be a $25,000 buy-in. This event will have a 64-player cap and will be first-come, first-serve and starts on May 31.
Here’s an overview of the events added to the 2020 WSOP schedule today.
