World Series of Poker Announces Freezeout Series
The 2020 World Series of Poker schedule is here! This morning the World Series of Poker announced its dates for the biggest poker festival of the year which will run from May 26th through July 15.
Dating back to 1970, the World Series of Poker is the largest tournament series of the year with its 2019 edition drawing a whopping 187,000 entrants from 118 different countries to generate a total of $293,000,000 in awarded prize money.
The first WSOP bracelet event of 2020 will start on Wednesday, May 27th with its signature first-weekend event being the BIG 50 No Limit Hold’em tournament which has a $500 buy-in with 50,000 starting chips and 50-minute levels. This event will have four consecutive days with starting flights, so plan accordingly!
In 2019, Hossein Ensan defeated a field of 8,569 players to win the WSOP Main Event for a $10,000,000 payday after defeating Dario Sammartino heads up. The 2020 World Series of Poker Main Event dates are July 1-14 with three starting flights to get things started. The fourth of July will be Day 2 for all players that play on either July 1 or 2, with the field combining on July 6th for Day 3 action.
The final table of the 2020 World Series of Poker Main Event is set to be reached on July 10 after which players will have one day off before they continue their journey towards a multi-million dollar payday and eternal poker fame. The final table is set to be televised on EPSN and ESPN2 on July 12, 13, and 14.
Always a fan favorite among poker fans making the trip out to Las Vegas are the staple events that draw massive crowds for low buy-ins, and the 2020 schedule will once again heavily feature those events. While dates for these events have not yet been announced, the following events are back on the schedule at the 2020 World Series of Poker.

Aside from the World Series of Poker gold bracelet events, the WSOP also offers single table satellites starting as low as $75 and cash games as low as $1/$2 with a $80 minimum buy-in. Cash games at the WSOP will be on offer 24/7 from when the doors open on May 27th until the very last card is dealt in the Main Event. The World Series of Poker cash games have a dedicated high stakes area that commonly sees big money flying and a variety of games on tab with plenty of mixed games and Chinese Poker being offered.
Registration for the 2020 WSOP opens in late March, early April and a further announcement on the specifics is to-be-announced at a later time. Wiring options, cash buy-ins, and credit card buy-ins are likely to be available for the 2020 WSOP like they were in 2019. Information on how to get a box at the 2020 WSOP for large cash deposits will also be added to this article when that information becomes public.
Satellites for the 2020 WSOP are now running on the online poker client of the World Series of Poker in both Nevada and New Jersey. Both states will also allow for players to participate in gold bracelet events during the 2020 WSOP.
Announced on January 9th, 2020, the World Series of Poker Championship Event Schedule is one to start salivating over! A total of 16 Championship Events will be offered during the 2020 WSOP encompassing 24 total poker variants.
