Since PokerGO and the World Poker Tour partnered to bring Season XVI televised World Poker Tour final tables to the PokerGO live event library, three WPT champions have been crowned. This week, a fourth player will join the PokerGO winner’s circle, when the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic final table streams on PokerGO on Sunday.
The $10,000 buy-in event is regularly one of the biggest events in the world and the last WPT stop of the calendar year should continue that trend. Last year’s event drew just shy of 800 entrants, but players and fans won’t know this year’s finalized number until Wednesday night.
That is because late registration and unlimited re-entry is open through Day 1, which begins on Tuesday, and remains open through Level 9, which falls around 5:15 PM on Day 2. That means that players will have over nearly two full days to get in the action, which could push this year’s Five Diamond World Poker Classic over the 800-player mark.
If this year’s WPT Five Diamond event draws similar numbers compared to the last few years, multiple seven-figure payouts will be up for grabs at the televised six-handed final table. PokerGO will bring you that action on Sunday, but until then, follow Poker Central for daily updates from the year’s biggest WPT event and subscribe to PokerGO now if you want to catch up on Season XVI WPT action.
