Poker Masters Championship Standings: Midway Update
Earlier this week, the World Poker Tour and ARIA Resort & Casino announced that they would be teaming up again this summer, to bring the WPT500 back to Las Vegas. The event will run as part of the 2017 ARIA Poker Classic and will boast a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The $565 buy-in event begins Monday, June 26 and features nine starting flights. The first seven, will take place once per day from June 26 to July 2 and the final two starting flights will take place on Monday, July 3 and be run with a “turbo” format.
This is the fourth straight year that the WPT500 will run at ARIA and Director of Poker Operations Sean McCormack talked about his excitement via a WPT press release.
“We look forward to hosting the WPT500 at ARIA for a fourth consecutive year,” McCormack said through that press release. “The previous tournaments have been huge successes and we anticipate another great event this year. WPT500 Las Vegas provides players with the opportunity to enjoy both exciting tournament action as well as a world-class experience at ARIA.”
Through the first three years of the event, WPT500 Las Vegas has awarded more than $6.3 million in prize pools and generated nearly 13,000 entries. Earlier this year, we dubbed the WPT500 a “Must Play” tournament and all signs point towards another massive field coming together this summer.
