To get fans primed and ready for a summer full of poker, Poker Central has rebooted “Situational Saturday.” Each week, we’re taking a hand from a PokerGO live event and giving you a chance to put yourself in different high stakes situations from “Poker After Dark,” Poker Masters, and more. Then, we’ll solve the situation and give away a PokerGO subscription in the process.
Our next Situational Saturday hand was taken from the 2017 Super High Roller Bowl. At the final table of the year’s biggest event, Pratyush Buddiga and Jake Schindler are each dealt pocket pairs and then collide in a tournament changing pot.
Buddiga has the biggest pocket pair, but he elects to play his aces carefully after the flop. He check-calls twice and then checks for a third time after the board pairs on the river. Schindler gets a count of Buddiga’s stack and finds out that he is slightly covered, before Schindler moves all-in.
You are at the final table of a tournament and have your opponent covered. You have aces and face a shove on the river!
Do you call?

If you watched the 2017 Super High Roller Bowl live or through PokerGO’s event replays, you know that Buddiga’s bullets got cracked. Schindler flopped a set of eights and got maximum value.
