The taste of November is in the air on PokerGO with six episodes dedicated to taking the 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event field to the final table. Day 7 and Day 8 represent the biggest chance of most of these player’s lives to make a name for themselves and a seven-figure score to go with it. Some blossom under the pressure and others bow down.
Matt Giannetti is one who shows how iron he is by chipping up when the money matters most. The two-time WPT Champions Club member is as solid as it gets and takes advantage of weakness shown by Hilton Laborda. In consecutive hands, Giannetti takes Laborda’s chips and his soul to go with it. When comes time for crunch time on the November Nine bubble, Giannetti’s resolve holds once again.
Ben Lamb’s will is never in question and he puts on a clinic late in the Main Event. With WSOP Player of the Year honors on the line, Lamb dices his way through Guillaume Darcourt. Lamb somehow loses the minimum with kings against Darcourt’s aces and then beats the Frenchman in a pot worth the chip lead. Darcourt’s hair turns a shade of pink by the time his encounter with Lamb is over.
The pressure is on for many but not Bob Bounahra. The Belize recreational player gets lucky to stay alive on Day 7 and the rolls toward the final table with seven-deuce in his arsenal. Nothing is out of the question for Bounahra, who turns the screws on Costa Rica’s John Hewitt on the final table bubble.
Poker’s power couple, David ‘Doc’ Sands and Erika Mouthino, also do their best to hang around despite being short stacked. Poker is the furthest thing from a team sport but the pair does their best to cheer each on.
