If you were wondering when the WSOP schedule would be released, you no longer have to wonder. On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, the World Series of Poker announced the 2022 WSOP schedule. The schedule features 88 live tournaments and 13 online tournaments, with the series running May 31 to July 20. The 2022 WSOP will be held at its new home on the Las Vegas Strip, taking place at Bally’s, the future Horseshoe, and Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.
The 2022 World Series of Poker schedule is full of events for all types of poker players in a variety of games. Of course, everyone is wondering when the 2022 WSOP Main Event will take place and the dates are official. The WSOP $10,000 Main Event starts on Sunday, July 3, and will conclude on Saturday, July 16. Last year’s champion, Koray Aldemir, took home a prize of $8,000,000. Live coverage of the WSOP Main Event and more will be available on PokerGO.com.
New highlights from the 2022 WSOP schedule include the addition of a $100,000 High Roller Bounty, the $500 “Housewarming” with a $5,000,000 guarantee, and the $1,000 Million Dollar Bounty. Popular tournaments such as the Millionaire Maker, Monster Stack, and Colossus are also on the schedule for another year and should each attract large fields to the WSOP tournament floor.
“This year is particularly historic for the WSOP with its move to the heart of the Las Vegas Strip and debut in the best facilities we’ve ever had,” said Ty Stewart, WSOP’s Executive Director, in the official press release. “We’re ready to welcome players from all over the world to our housewarming party at Bally’s, soon-to-be Horseshoe, and Paris. The schedule is jam-packed with first-class events and we expect this to be the biggest and most anticipated WSOP yet.”
The 2022 WSOP $1,000 buy-in Million Dollar Bounty is a brand new event on the World Series of Poker schedule and one that should deliver in massive fashion. The tournament has a mystery bounty format, with the biggest bounty on offer guaranteed to be worth $1,000,000. The tournament has four starting flights July 2-4, with the fourth and final flight being a turbo flight. According to the event’s structure sheet, there will be standard payouts on Day 1 and bounties will begin on Day 2.
The WSOP Tournament of Champions is another new addition for the 2022 season. It is a closed event open only to players who win one of the 88 gold bracelets on offer at the 2022 WSOP or a gold ring from the 2021-2022 WSOP Circuit season. Those winners will get a free entry into the Tournament of Champions where a $1,000,000 prize pool will be on offer.
