The fifth installment of the PokerGO Cup will be the second series of the 2025 PGT season. The PokerGO Cup will run from February 11-20, 2025, and will be held inside the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The eight-event schedule is a No-Limit Hold'em series with buy-ins ranging from $5,100 to the $25,200 finale, with all events playing down to the final table of six. Those six players return the following day to conclude play on PokerGO.com. Each event will allow players a maximum of two reentries, and players in the registration line before the scheduled start time will receive a discount on rake on their first entry.

The PGT shot clock will be active during the PokerGO Cup, with players having 20 seconds to act on their hand preflop, and 30 seconds postflop. Time extensions are worth 30 seconds each, regardless of which street they are used, and players begin with eight for entry before the first break and then six thereafter. Additional time extensions are distributed to players in the money if the field exceeds 71 entrants. The final seven players will also receive six additional time extensions.

Event #1 will be a $5,100 buy-in, and levels in this event will be 30 minutes in duration, with registration closing at the start of Level 9, approximately 5 p.m. PT. Events #2 to 7 will see levels increased to 40 minutes in duration, with registration closing at the start of Level 7, approximately 5 p.m. PT. The Event #8 finale will see levels increased to 45 minutes in duration, with registration closing at the start of Level 7, approximately 7 p.m. PT.

The PokerGO Cup is part of the 2025 PGT season, with players earning PGT points based on the amount they cash for in each event. The PGT points awarded during the PokerGO Cup will also decide who is crowned the PokerGO Cup champion and receive the $25,000 PGT Passport bonus and the PokerGO Cup. PGT points accumulated throughout the PGT season will decide players' final position on the PGT leaderboard. The season-ending top 40 eligible players and select Dream Seat winners will qualify for the 2025 PGT $1,000,000 Championship, where the first-place prize will be $500,000.

Satellite into the 2025 PokerGO Cup

On Monday, February 10, there will be a $560 No-Limit Hold'em satellite into Event #1: $5,100 No-Limit Hold'em. This satellite will be held in the ARIA Poker Room and begin at 1 p.m. PT. Players start with 100,000 in chips, and levels are 30 minutes in duration.

Who Will Win the 2025 PokerGO Cup?

Previous winners of the PokerGO Cup include Daniel Negreanu (2021), Jeremy Ausmus (2022), Cary Katz (2023), and Jonathan Little (2024).

The previous champions are the first round of favorites to make a run at winning the 2025 PokerGO Cup. Negreanu, Ausmus, Katz, and Little are all expected to play the entire series, and are consequently at the top of the list to be repeat PokerGO Cup champions. Ausmus is coming off an incredible 2024 PGT season, which saw him crowned the 2024 PGT Player of the Year and win the PGT $1,000,000 Championship.

"Winning the PokerGO Cup is definitely one of my fondest poker memories," Ausmus said. "It's not an award for one tournament, but a series of tournaments which really gets me motivated. It's tough competition so that makes it more rewarding."

Kristen Foxen currently sits on top of the PGT leaderboard and will likely carry that form into the PokerGO Cup in an effort to extend her lead. PokerGO Studio newcomer Patrick Leonard is also one to look out for. He is second on the PGT leaderboard and may now have the itch to keep grinding at the PokerGO Studio. Following solid 2024 PGT seasons, Jesse Lonis and Aram Zobian's start to the 2025 PGT season didn't fulfill their expectations, but these two big-game players will be ready to put on a show at the PokerGO Cup.
