The 2024 PokerGO Cup continued at the PokerGO Studio from ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Daniel Smiljkovic bagged the top stack with 1,960,000 to lead the six remaining players in the penultimate event of the series, Event #7: $15,100 No-Limit Hold'em.
David Peters, Brock Wilson, Morten Klein, Seth Davies, and Kristen Foxen round out the players who will return for the final day as play resumes at 12 p.m. PT on Friday, February 2 with the delayed final table stream beginning at 1 p.m. PT on PokerGO.
The field of 70 entrants created a prize pool of $1,050,000 and the top 10 finishers earned a piece of it. Daniel Negreanu was the unfortunate bubble boy when he got his chips in on a blind-versus-blind confrontation with eights against Smiljkovic's ace-king. Smiljkovic was on an all-in hot streak and continued winning this one, eliminating "Kid Poker" on the bubble.
Stanley Tang (10th), Stephen Chidwick (9th), and Sean Winter (8th) all made it into the money but fell short of the final table. The seven remaining players converged on a single table and it didn't take long before Nick Petrangelo ran his suited ace-queen into Klein's pocket kings. The runout provided no help to Petrangelo and he was eliminated in seventh place, while the remaining players bagged to return for the streamed final table.
The six players will return with $57,750 locked up, but all eyes will be on the $315,000 first-place prize, 315 PGT points, and the PGT Gold Cup awaiting the Event #7 champion.
Event #6 winner David Coleman currently sits atop the series leaderboard with 347 points in the race for the PokerGO Cup and $25,000 PGT Passport, but that will change very soon. Smiljkovic recently won the PGT Championship for $500,000 and will have an opportunity to continue his fortune by winning the PokerGO Cup. He currently has 156 points following a runner-up finish in Event #2 and will take the chip lead into the final table of this penultimate event.
Peters won Event #1 and currently has 142 points, while Davies (132 points), Klein (36 points), and Foxen (32 points) all also notched their second cash of the series, and Wilson (75 points) picked up his third cash of the series.

4 | Morten Klein | Norway | 1,315,000 |
5 | Brock Wilson | United States | 1,575,000 |

When play resumes, there is 26:20 remaining in Level 15 with blinds at 20,000/40,000 with a 40,000 big blind ante. The button is on Daniel Smiljkovic.
Play will resume at 12 p.m. PT and the final table will be streamed on delay starting at 1 p.m. PT on PokerGO.com.
