The 2018 World Series of Poker concluded with the $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop inside the Amazon room as 27 of the world’s best gathered to battle for the first prize of $10,000,000.

Recapping the Day 1 & 2 Action of the 2018 Big One for One Drop

After the first day of play, Rick Salomon held the chip lead followed by Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu while the winner of the inaugural event, Antonio Esfandiari, along with Bryn Kenney and Isaac Haxton were among those eliminated.

On the second day of play, Justin Bonomo’s rush started to take shape along with Fedor Holz while Adrian Mateos, Rainer Kempe, Stephen Chidwick, and Brian Rast were among the early bust-outs.

With two tables remaining, Holz held the lead with Rick Salomon, David Einhorn, Erik Seidel, Nick Petrangelo, and Phil Ivey within striking distance. Steffen Sontheimer busted out to Dan Smith in a big coinflip that vaulted the man in the cowboy hat into strong contention when his sevens held up versus ace-queen.

Dominik Nitsche then ran his ace-queen into the ace-king of Bonomo for one of the biggest pots of the day. Bonomo took a commanding lead and did not let go until the final table.

At the final table of nine, with five places paid, poker legends Erik Seidel and Phil Ivey were the first to bust and leave empty-handed. The night ended when Nick Petrangelo busted in seventh place to Justin Bonomo who watched his nines hold up against ace-eight of clubs.
