Top Fantasy Poker Picks for Event #38: $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller

The second big buy-in No-Limit Hold’em event of the 2021 WSOP kicks off on Tuesday, October 19, at 3 p.m. PT with Event #38: $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller.

Tyler Cornell won Event #6: $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller to kick of the series two weeks ago, and he’ll be one of the top picks entering today’s massive $2,500 freeroll contest that is being provided by SuperDraft.

Fellow final tablists Adrian Mateos (3rd), Jonathan Jaffe (4th), and Mustapha Kanit (5th) are all expected to be in the field and are solid choices to fill your five-player SuperDraft line-up. Another high roller regular that just made his way to Las Vegas this past week is WPT Champions Club member Matas Cimbolas who has had four PokerGO Tour cashes, and four WSOP Online cashes this year.

For high rollers, there is nothing else on the WSOP schedule that may be a reason for them to skip this event as the next big event doesn’t start till Saturday with the Event #45: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship.

Who Should You Fade?

Shaun Deeb has accumulated a decent stack in Event #35, so will most likely be dedicating today to playing that event and is probably a safe player to fade. In the Event #36: $10,000 Dealers Choice, some players that would likely play the $50,000 High Roller that are still in include Joao Vieira, Daniel Negreanu, Anthony Zinno, and Nick Schulman.

Line-up Formation

Lineups are made up of five players that include a “Champion” player that scores an additional 50% of their multiplier and four others. With SuperDraft, every player is assigned a multiplier, and as new players enter the WSOP gold bracelet event in real-time, they will be added to the draftable player pool. Points in the contest are awarded to players that finish in the top 20, along with bonuses for finishing in-the-money, reaching the final table, reaching the top five, reaching the top three, and winning it all.

What is Coming Up Next?

After you’ve pocketed the lion’s share of the No-Limit Hold’em High Roller freeroll, it’s time to turn your attention to the Event #40: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. freeroll where there will be $1,00 up for grabs. Following the H.O.R.S.E. Championship, there will be another $1,000 freeroll in the Event #45: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship that will begin on Saturday, October 23.
