Scott Seiver Wins 2024 WSOP Player of the Year
The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) schedule is here, jam-packed with 99 gold bracelet events. The 2024 WSOP takes place May 28 through July 17 at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip. The 2024 WSOP Main Event is scheduled for July 3-17.
The 55th annual WSOP features several popular events returning to the schedule. Favorites such as the Mystery Millions, Gladiators of Poker, Monster Stack, Millionaire Maker, Colossus, and Mini Main Event are all back in 2024. Each of those events should see wall-to-wall fields and tons of prize money up for grabs at accessible buy-in levels. The WSOP $1,000 Mystery Millions event headlines the opening portion of the schedule, slated to begin on Thursday, May 30, with four starting flights. This event boasts a $1,000,000 first-place guarantee and a guaranteed top bounty of $1,000,000.
Looking at the higher buy-in events, the $25,000 Heads-Up Championship is back, the no-limit hold'em high roller tournaments at $25,000, $50,000, and $100,000 buy-ins are back, the $250,000 Super High Roller is on the schedule, and the prestigious $50,000 Poker Player Championship has returned.
Of course, there are several new additions to the WSOP schedule for 2024. On the first day of tournament action, there is the $5,000 buy-in Champions Reunion NL Hold'em Freezeout event. In this event, if a player knocks out a WSOP Main Event champion, then that player will receive an entry into the 2024 WSOP Main Event. Per the WSOP's press release about the full schedule, all living WSOP Main Event champions will be given a free entry to play in the Champions Reunion. On Wednesday, May 29, there is a $500 buy-in WSOP Kickoff NL Hold'em Freezeout that should draw very well given the price point. Likely the most exciting new addition for many poker players is the WSOP $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship, scheduled to take place starting on Thursday, July 11.
