The PokerGO Cup continued on Friday from the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, with Event #4: $10,100 No-Limit Hold’em. The tournament drew 98 entries and Justin Saliba leads the final six players.
Saliba held one of the top stacks late in the evening, due in part to his eliminations of Keith Lehr and Ren Lin, before he knocked out Neil Warren on the bubble in a preflop cooler. He continued to accumulate chips and eliminated Nick Schulman and Sam Laskowitz en route to a sizable overnight lead with nearly 35% of the chips in play. Saliba leads a final table that includes Joey Weissman, Aram Zobian, Eric Blair, Darren Elias, and Justin Sternberg. These six players will return on Saturday at 11:45 a.m. already guaranteed $49,000. Up top for the winner is the $254,800 first-place prize, 255 PGT points, and the Event #4 trophy.
The field of 98 entrants created a prize pool of $980,000 and the final 14 players earned a piece of it. Neil Warren was the unfortunate bubble boy when he ran kings into Saliba's aces and failed to improve. Nick Schulman (14th), Jim Collopy (13th), Nick Seward (12th), Matthew McEwan (11th), Sam Laskowitz (10th), Kristen Foxen (9th), and John Riordan (8th) were the first to fall in the money.
The remaining players converged on a single table and Patrick Leonard was the first to go in seventh place when he got his chips in on the flop with top pair top kicker and ran into Blair's middle set. The six remaining players played out the rest of the level before they bagged to return for the streamed final table.
Weissman is already atop the series leaderboard in the race for the PokerGO Cup and a $25,000 PGT Passport following a runner-up finish in Event #1 and a victory in Event #2, and he will be looking to pad that lead at the final table. Saliba and Zobian each picked up their second cash of the series, while Blair, Elias, and Sternberg each notched their first.
