Adam Hendrix came into the Event #3 final table near the bottom of the chip counts but weathered the storm and sealed his sixth career PGT title with a monster bluff heads-up against Harvey Castro en route to the $316,050 first-place prize plus 316 PGT points after another record-breaking event at the 2025 PokerGO Cup.

With both Hendrix and Castro holding around eight million in chips, Hendrix raised to 900,000 from the big blind with king-queen of spades, and Castro called with ten-six on the button.

The flop fell five-three-deuce one spade, and Hendrix continued for 500,000. Castro called and hit the top pair on the ten turn, and Hendrix fired another barrel to the tune of 1,700,000. Castro used a time extension and called as the six of spades completed the board on the river.

Hendrix wasted little time unloading the clip, moving all in for just over 4.8 million, and after a count of the chips, Castro discovered he was covered by just 75,000. Castro went deep into the tank and used five time extensions before reluctantly sending his top two pair into the muck.

Hendrix took a nearly three-to-one chip lead after getting the king-high bluff through, and Castro could never recover, eventually bowing out in second place for $193,500, plus 194 PGT points when his queen-jack could not run down Hendrix's pocket sevens.

Castro, who started the day with the chip lead, had done most of the heavy lifting to get to heads-up play as he eliminated Joao Simao in third place for $141,900 and 142 PGT points after his jacks held up against the Brazilian's ace-king.

Hendrix looked almost out the door four-handed as his ill-timed shove with king-three off from the small blind ran square into the ace-queen of Manuel Fritz in the big blind in an over six million chip pot. Fritz flopped a queen, but Hendrix turned and rivered a king to send the Austrian home in fourth place for $103,200 plus 103 PGT points.

Castro appeared as if he was going to run away with the trophy after picking up aces to eliminate Daniel Sepiol and his pocket nines in fifth place for $77,400 plus 77 PGT points as he collected nearly sixty percent of the chips in play before handing out three doubles to Simao, Hendrix, and Fritz.

2022 GPI Female Player of the Year Cherish Andrews continued to make a splash in the high roller scene to start the 2025 season as she picked up her second final table appearance of the series but could not improve on the third-place finish in Event #1, as she bowed out in sixth place for $64,500 plus 65 PGT points.

Landon Tice scored his first cash in the PokerGO Studio when he finished second during PGT Last Chance #3 in January, but he now holds a major event cash. The start-of-day day, short stack scored an early double through Andrews, but the momentum would not last as his ace-king went down in flames to the rivered broadway straight of Fritz, leaving the young phenom to collect his $51,seventh-place prize plus 52 PGT Points.

Event #3 Sets Another PokerGO Studio Record

Event #3: $10,100 No-Limit Hold'em of the 2025 PokerGO Cup set another studio record as 129 entries made their way inside the PokerGO Studio, topping the 121-player field from PGT Last Chance Event #5 in January by eight players creating a record-setting prize pool of $1,290,000 with the top 19 players finishing in the money.

Yi Klassen was the unfortunate bubble in Event #2, but the PGT newcomer picked up the first cash of her PGT career, finishing in 19th place after Aram Zobian sent Brandon Wittmeyer home on the direct bubble.

Fellow PGT newcomer Nguyen Le (14th), Vlastimil Pustina (11th), and Martin Carnero (9th) also picked up their first cashes of the 2025 season. PGT regulars Victoria Livschitz (18th), Jesse Lonis (16th), Aram Zobian (13th), Sean Winter (12th), Matthew Wantman (10th), Martin Carnero (7th,) and Jim Collopy (8th) all picked up their first cashes of the 2025 Cup, while Ed Sebesta (17th) and John Andress (15th) scored their second cashes of the series.

However, everyone is still looking up at Event #1 winner Michael Moncek and Event #2 winner Joey Weissman, who both failed to cash in Event #3 but still sit atop the series leaderboard with 369 and 419 points, respectively. Event #3 winner Adam Hendrix moves into third courtesy of the 316 points for his first cash of the series, while Event #3 runner-up Castro sits in fourth with 194 points.

Event #3 final tableists Simao, Andrews, and Fritz all picked up their second cashes of the series to round out the top seven on the leaderboard. Poker Hall of Famer Erik Seidel sits in eighth, Andrew Moreno is ninth, and Sam Laskowitz tenth, rounding out the leaderboard.
