The 2024 Poker Masters presented by PokerStars NAPT continued on Thursday from the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, with Event #3: $10,100 No-Limit Hold’em. The tournament drew 94 entries and Justin Zaki leads the final seven players.
Zaki was 13th in chips of the remaining 15 players when play was on the money bubble. He found a double-up through chip leader Kristen Foxen, getting it in with pocket queens against Foxen's nine-eight suited. Foxen flopped an open ender, but Zaki faded her outs and doubled. Once play was in the money, Zaki won a crucial race with ace-king against Foxen's pocket jacks, soaring up the chip counts as a result and eliminating Foxen. Zaki leads a final table that includes Victoria Livschitz, Michael Brinkenhoff, Jim Collopy, Cary Katz, Jeremy Ausmus, and Ren Lin. These seven players will return on Friday at noon already guaranteed $37,600. Up top for the winner is the $244,400 first-place prize, 244 PGT points, and the Event #3 trophy.
The field of 94 entrants created a prize pool of $940,000 and the final 14 players earned a piece of it. Bill Klein just missed out, busting on the money bubble. Nguyen Le (14th), Nicholas Seward (13th), and David Coleman (12th) were the first to fall once the money was reached. Kristen Foxen (11th), Aram Zobian (10th), and Daniel Negreanu (9th) followed suit when Neagreau's pocket fives lost a flip against Collopy's ace-jack. Collopy flopped top two pair and it held up to eliminate Negreanu.
Lucas Foster fell just short of the final table in eighth place, getting his chips in with ace-seven suited against Livschitz's pocket queens. Foster turned a flush draw but didn't improve, locking up the pot for Livschitz and vaulting her to second in chips of the remaining seven players.
