Lautaro Guerra won Event #5: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha at the first-ever PGT PLO Series. Guerra Guerra came out on top of the 112-entry field to win a $220,400 first-place prize.
Guerra Guerra was only a tiny bit of chips ahead of Jesse Chinni at the bottom of the leaderboard coming into the event's final day. Seven players remained and Guerra Guerra was in second-to-last place. He eventually found a triple up to move into the chip lead with six players remaining. From there, Guerra Guerra maneuvered to heads-up play against Joni Jouhkimainen. The two struck a deal and locked up more than second-place money each before Guerra Guerra went on to win the event for the additional $20,000 they left to play for. When it was all said and done, Guerra Guerra walked away $220,400 richer.
For Guerra Guerra, the score was the second largest of his live tournament career, according to TheHendonMob.com. It was also his third live tournament victory, with all three coming in pot-limit Omaha. Guerra Guerra now has more than $700,000 in live tournament winnings with the large majority of that coming from PLO tournaments.
