Lev Gottlieb Wins First Bracelet in GGPoker WSOP Online $10,000 Short Deck Championship for $276,393

The 2020 World Series of Poker Online on GGPoker continued Tuesday with Event #43: $10,000 Short Deck No-Limit Hold’em Championship attracting a 130-entrant field which created a $1,261,000 prize pool. Mexico’s Lev “LevMeAlone” Gottlieb would defeat Belarusian Mikita Badziakouski heads-up to win his first WSOP bracelet and the $276,393 first-place prize.

Only 17 players would finish in-the-money, and it would be GGPoker ambassador Felipe Ramos eliminated on the money bubble as the likes of Sergey Lebedev, Jason Koon, Yuri Dzivielevski, Danny Tang, and George Wolff all exited before the final table was reached.

Canada’s Ami Barer was first to exit when his king-jack couldn’t outdrawn Bjorn “wong1324” Li’s ace-jack. Carl “Swetomir “Schrader would be all-in holding ace-king suited against Gottlieb’s jack-ten suited, and although Schrader flopped top pair, Gottlieb turned a straight flush to eliminate Schrader in eighth-place. Li was next to go when his ace-queen ran into Badziakouski’s ace-king as play then began to slow with just six remaining. After nearly an hour, Michael Zhang would exit in sixth-place before Dan “oiltrader” Shak doubled Sergi Reixach then busted a few hands later to Nobuaki “Sasa JHR” Sasaki. Sasaki would be the next to fall after being outdrawn on the river holding ace-jack to Badziakouski’s jack-nine.

Reixach called all-in holding kings but would see Gottlieb turn trips with ace-jack to see heads-up play reached with Badziakouski holding a three-to-one chip advantage over Gottlieb. The heads-up battle would last nearly four hours before the final hand saw Badziakouski call all-in holding king-queen to be trailing Gottlieb’s ace-ten. Badziakouski took the lead with a flopped pair, but when he turned kings-up, Gottlieb turned a broadway straight. No full house came for Badziakouski on the river, and Gottlieb was crowned the Event #43 champion.
