Michael Brinkenhoff turned a straight flush to double against Jared Jaffee late in level 9 to take the chip lead, and after riding the wave, he found himself back with the chip lead to end the night as the final table of Event #2 $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em is set.
Joining Brinkenhoff at the final table are Alex Foxen, Stephen Song, Masashi Oya, Dylan DeStefano, and Ethan Yau.
Yau, better known by his YouTube moniker "Rampage Poker," lived up to his name as the poker vlogger went on a tear as the money bubble approached. Yau started the rampage when he eliminated Adarian Mateos to burst the Event #2 money bubble when his tens held up against Mateos king-queen.
A few hands later, Yau picked up eights against the ace-queen of Stephen Chidwick and flopped a set to send the PGT Points leader out the door in 11th place for $22,800.
Keeping the flip train moving, Yau picked up kings against Corey Wade's ace-queen, and when the kings held, Wade was out the door in 10th place for $22,800, and we headed to the unofficial final table of nine.
Yau would find his fourth elimination in a row when his ace-five suited bested the ace-seven of Daniel Negreanu. Yau turned a flush, and Kid Poker was out the door in 9th place for $22,800.
Yau handed the knockout reigns to Foxen after that as he eliminated Jacky Wang in 8th place for $30,400 when he turned trip nines.
Event #1 winner Jeremy Ausmus continued his hot start to the 2022 Poker Masters as he jumped into the tournament late but found himself at the final table for the second day in a row. Ausmus's run ended when his ace-three ran into the ace-queen of Brinkenhoff.
Brinkenhoff flopped two pair and rivered a full house as Ausmus headed to the payout cage in 7th place for $38,000.
