The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is finally concluded, and what a great seven weeks of poker it was. Coming out of the 2024 WSOP, Michael Rocco sits atop the PGT leaderboard with 1,835 points.
Rocco stormed up the PGT leaderboard as a result of seven cashes during the 2024 WSOP. He saved the biggest one for last. Capping off his WSOP, Rocco won the WSOP $10,000 NL Hold'em 6-Max event for $924,922 and 925 PGT points.
Jonathan Tamayo, winner of the 2024 WSOP Main Event, moved into second place thanks to winning the biggest and most prestigious tournament in the world. Tamayo earned 1,550 PGT points for winning the 2024 WSOP Main Event, which improved him to 1,730 on the season when you include the 180 points he earned for finishing third in the Texas Poker Open Main Event in April. Points-wise, Tamayo is in a great position to qualify for the season-ending PGT Championship $1,000,000 Freeroll, but he'll need to earn a third PGT cash this season in order to be eligible.
Rounding out the top five are Jesse Lonis (1,713 points), Daniel Negreanu (1,660 points), and Jeremy Ausmus (1,499 points). Negreanu and Ausmus lead the way with the most PGT cashes this season (15). Ausmus is the only player in the top five yet to get a PGT win during the 2024 season.
