The Super High Roller Series returns from August 17 to 25, 2024, with ten events, headlined by the $300,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl IX.
The ultra-high-stakes extravaganza lands at the luxurious Merit Royal Diamond Hotel and Spa and will be paired in celebration with the grand opening of the resort’s lavish new Onyx Club. This exclusive invite-only members club focuses on high-stakes poker and gaming. Housed in the purpose-built Onyx Room at Merit Cyprus, it offers the ultimate poker experience for high-stakes players. Each event of the Super High Roller Series will begin inside the Merit Royal Diamond function rooms before play transitions to the brand-new modern set inside the Onyx Club for final tables.
“We look forward to welcoming Super High Roller Bowl players to the Onyx Club for the first time as we host the next edition of this iconic event,” said the Onyx Club’s Neil Barrett. “The versatility of the Onyx Club allows for utilization as a cash game and live gaming venue while also hosting a state of the art tv set.”
The Super High Roller Series has buy-ins ranging from $25,000 to $300,000, with every event being a freezeout. The schedule includes both No-Limit Hold'em and Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments, and there are two Mystery Bounty events. exclusively all freezeout formats in all ten events. The Super High Roller Series is part of the 2024 PGT season, with players earning PGT points based on the amount they cash for in each event. The top 40 eligible players ranked by the PGT leaderboard will qualify for the season-ending PGT Championship $1,000,000 Freeroll.

More than 60 players are confirmed for the upcoming Super High Roller Series, and hotel rooms are still available for players looking to attend and compete for millions of dollars and elusive PGT points. Two players who are attending with goals to make a run at taking the top spot on the PGT leaderboard are Jeremy Ausmus and Aram Zobian. Ausmus currently sits fifth with 1,499 PGT points, and Zobian is sixth with 1,438 PGT points, while ahead of them are Michael Rocco (1,835 PGT points), Jonathan Tamayo (1,730 PGT points), Jesse Lonis (1,713 PGT points), and Daniel Negreanu (1,660 PGT points).
“I’m excited to play some upcoming PGT events in a beautiful location like Cyprus," Ausmus said on making his first trip to play the Super High Roller Series. "They have a top-notch product that’s very player-friendly, so I don’t miss many of their events.”
“The events on the PGT are by far my favorite tour to play," Zobian said about attending the Super High Roller Series for the first time. "I love competing against the best in the world and vying for PGT points.”
Two recent 2024 WSOP bracelet winners are also confirmed to play in the Super High Roller Series. Sergio Aido, winner of the WSOP $50k No-Limit Hold'em High Roller for $2,026,506, and Santhosh Suvarna, winner of the WSOP $250k Super High Roller for $5,415,152, will all be in attendance.
“I simply love Merit!" Aido said about the location. "Such an amazing spot on the Mediterranean for high-stakes poker.”
Other high-stakes tournament poker players attending the Super High Roller Series include four-time WSOP bracelet winner Adrian Mateos, PGT PLO Series $25k PLO Championship winner Seth Davies, Nick Petrangelo, Benjamin Heath, and Mikita Badziakouski.
“I love to compete in the highest stakes, and the Super High Roller Bowl is one of my favorite tournaments of the year," Mateos said about Super High Roller Boxl IX. "Huge stakes and a really good structure. I love it!”
“Super High Roller Bowl in Cyprus is going to be epic," Davies said about attending the Super High Roller Series. "It’s one of the most prestigious tournaments of the year and there’s a great schedule around it. And Cyprus in August is a beautiful place to spend a couple of weeks. I can’t wait!”
“I can’t wait to play Super High Roller Bowl in Cyprus," Heath said about attending the Super High Roller Series. "It’s one of my favorite venues to play poker, great staff, right on the beach, a perfect fit for one of poker's most prestigious events.”
“I always enjoy coming to Merit for the high-stakes poker series," Badziakouski said about attending the Super High Roller Series. "Especially excited about this one as it includes the $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl.”
The final three events of the Super High Roller Series are exclusively Pot-Limit Omaha events, and many Omaha experts are attending the series to battle. Some of those include Jan-Peter Jachtmann, Aku Joentausta, and Joni Joukimainen.
“Great venue with good action," Jouhkimainen said about attending the Super High Roller Bowl Series. "Looking forward to the big Pot-Limit Omaha events that you don’t find too often.”
The final table of the first five events of the Super High Roller Series will be livestreamed on OTT service PokerGO. The first five final tables will stream from August 18 to 22 at 11 a.m. ET on a dynamic delay due to the time zone difference. After those five events, attention will be turned to the marquee Super High Roller Bowl IX where each day will be livestreamed from August 23 to 25. Day 1 begins at 4 p.m. ET, while Day 2 and the final table will livestream at 11 a.m. ET.
