Earlier this year, Poker Central and CakeWorks partnered to create INSIDERS: Super High Roller Bowl 2018. The series followed Daniel Negreanu, Seth Davies, and Brandon Adams in the months before to the $300,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl. While INSIDERS primarily looked forward, Hand Histories looks back.
Hand Histories gives fans rare behind-the-scenes insight into the extreme emotional highs and lows from some of the most famous poker hands ever captured on television. The interview-driven short form documentary series features the world’s biggest poker stars narrating their iconic wins and loses.
“Whether they play for the titles or the prize money, the turn of a card can bring the highest high or the lowest low for an individual poker player,” said Sam Simmons, vice president of content for Poker Central. “We’re looking forward to sharing with our viewers the visceral stories behind these well-known hands – directly from the players who lived them.”
The newest series by Poker Central and CakeWorks features Daniel Negreanu, Brian Rast, Matt Affleck, Bryan Piccoli, Joseph Cheong, and Jeremy Ausmus. Hand Histories will premier on July 23 and the premier episode featuring Matt Affleck will be available for free for a limited time on Poker Central’s YouTube channel. The rest of the series will be available exclusively on PokerGO.
“We’re proud to bring these thrilling tales to the screens of poker’s superfans and aspiring players,” said Rebecca Paoletti, CEO and co-founder of CakeWorks. “And are grateful to the poker stars involved in this series, who were so candid with us about the hands that changed their lives – for better and for worse.”
Hand Histories will add to an established content partnership between Poker Central and CakeWorks, while also adding to PokerGO’s growing original content library. Subscribe now to watch Hand Histories, INSIDERS, Dead Money, Super High Roller Club, and poker’s biggest events.
