PGT Mixed Games II kicked off on Thursday at the PokerGO Studio from ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada with Event #1: $10,200 H.O.R.S.E. The tournament drew a field of 72 entries and leading the final seven players is Paul Volpe.
This marked Volpe's first time in a PGT Mixed Games event and he is in pole position entering Friday's final table. Eli Elezra sits second in chips and is the lone player remaining to have won a PGT Mixed Games event during the inaugural series in February. Rounding out the final table are David Funkhouser, Dylan Linde, Anthony Zinno, Chino Rheem, and Dylan Weisman. For Rheem, this marks his fourth consecutive final table made after his impressive finish at the 2023 Poker Masters.
The field of 72 entrants created a prize pool of $720,000 and the final 11 players earned a piece of it. David "ODB" Baker just missed out, busting on the money bubble after flopping a set of aces in Omaha Hi-Lo and running into Linde's flopped Broadway. Baker turned a flush draw, but was unable to catch up on the river. Ben Yu (11th), Steve Zolotow (10th), Joseph Ranciato (9th), and Andrew Kelsall (8th) all cashed, but fell shy of the final table.
