The PGT Championship is the season-ending PokerGO Tour (PGT) tournament and will be held on January 9-10, 2024, at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada. The PGT Championship is a $1,000,000 freeroll that guarantees $500,000 for the winner and is open to players ranked in the top 40 on the PGT leaderboard at the end of the season and select Dream Seat winners.
There were multiple ways to win a Dream Seat throughout 2023, and the fourth winner has been selected, with California's Steve Kearney being chosen from the list of PokerGO annual subscribers as the fourth Dream Seat winner of 2023. Kearney will join fellow PokerGO Annual Subscriber Dream Seat Giveaway winners Albert Hart and Julio Clavell, as well as PokerGO Social Media Dream Seat Giveaway winner Caleb Hancock in the season-ending PGT Championship, where they will face off against the best players in the world.
Multiple ways to win a Dream Seat in 2023 include playing in the RunGood Poker Series Dream Seat Invitational and the PokerGO Social Media Dream Seat Giveaway. However, Steve Kearney won his Dream Seat through the final PokerGO Annual Subscriber Dream Seat Giveaway.
Anyone who was a PokerGO Annual subscriber was part of the pool where the winner was drawn. The remaining ways to win a Dream Seat into the PGT Championship include qualifying and winning the RunGood Poker Series Dream Seat Invitational or topping the PGT Last Chance leaderboard in January.
Born and raised in South California, 56-year-old Steve Kearney now calls San Fernando Valley home after retiring from his career working for a large home improvement center.
Kearney has been a frequent visitor to Las Vegas since he turned 21. Having fallen in love with poker in the 1990s, Kearney often plays a poker tournament on the Strip when he visits Las Vegas.
Being a long-time Poker annual subscriber, Kearney loves watching all the different content - especially when it involves his favorite player, Daniel "Kid Poker" Negreanu.
"I can't believe I get to play in this once-in-a-lifetime PGT Championship $1,000,000 Freeroll," Kearney said. "I am so excited to play and meet the pros. I am so grateful to have this opportunity. Thank you, PokerGO."
There are still opportunities to join Kearney, Hancock, Clavell, and Hart as a Dream Seat winner. Head to the Dream Seat page on PGT.com to find information on the final method of winning a Dream Seat into the PGT Championship $1,000,000 freeroll by winning the RunGood Poker Series Dream Seat Invitational. To gain entry into the RunGood Poker Series Dream Seat Invitational, you must win one of the remaining events on the 2023 RunGood Poker Series schedule. Approximately 85 events remain for the year at eight different stops around the country.
