LAS VEGAS, NV (March 6, 2022) — PokerGO® and the PokerGO Tour™ proudly announce the addition of the $25,000 buy-in PGT™ Heads-Up Showdown to the 2022 PGT schedule.
Taking place April 21-23, 2022, at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, the PGT Heads-Up Showdown sees 32 of the best poker players in the world compete in a bracket-style heads-up tournament for $25,000 apiece.
The PGT Heads-Up Showdown field will be determined in two ways. First, the top 16 players on the PGT leaderboard following the conclusion of the 2022 U.S. Poker Open, scheduled for March 16-28, earn an invitation to compete. These qualifying players must enter or wire funds by April 1 to guarantee their position. The remaining 16 spots in the event will be invite-only.
“The PGT prides itself on finding various ways to showcase the game’s most elite players, which is why we are so thrilled to announce the installment of an in-season invitational tournament that will welcome a select group of the world’s top talents to the PokerGO Studio for a special competition,” said Mori Eskandani, President of PokerGO. “Heads-up no-limit hold’em is arguably the purest form of poker – it’s poker’s version of hand-to-hand combat – and we cannot wait to crown a truly deserving champion in the first PGT Heads-Up Showdown.”
The PGT Heads-Up Showdown will be broadcast on PokerGO.com, live-streamed over three days of play.
